Hailsham 207-9 Clive Vale 121 all out  Scorecard

Clive Vale travelled to Hailsham for a 35 over a side match. Vale again had first use of the new ball and part time bowler Steve Brook bowled with control using the swinging conditions to his advantage finishing with figures of 4-11 off his 7 overs. Vale were in control up until skipper L.Williams came to the crease and smashed 58. He received good support from the Hailsham wicket keeper (34) and took the tally up to a very competitive 207 off their 35 overs. The rest of the wickets were taken by Simon Shephard (1-28), Ivan Buss (1-10), Carl Brook (2-27) and Andy Hayes (1-9).

In reply Vale again lost two quick wickets leaving Andy Hayes (21) and Carl Brook (47) to try and regain some balance. Hayes was well caught in the slips and in form Brook was timing the ball well and threatened a big score but once he departed Vale's hopes of chasing the total down were diminished as wickets continued to fall. The Hailsham wicket takers were T.Wright (2-20), R.Thompkinson (1-16), L.Williams (1-14), A Wright (2-11), V.Rose (3-16) and G.Morgan (1-5).

Hailsham won by 86 runs.
