Clive Vale travelled to Catsfield for their third game of the season hoping to make it 3 out of 3 victories. Vale skipper Carl Brook won the toss and asked Catsfield to bat first. An early breakthrough brought Tim Pitman to the crease. He immediately looked by far the best of the Catsfield batsmen going on to make 51 before falling to a good delivery from Carl Brook. At this stage Catsfield were 90/2 and looking on target for a decent score. Vale responded to bowl Catsfield out for only 146 inside 36 overs. Good bowling from Carl Brook 2/32, Adam Wickens 2/28, Guy Wenham 3/15 and Chris Brook 2/3 whom were aided by three outfield catches from Chris Kirkham.
In reply Vale openers Andy Hayes and Paul Fagan eased their way towards a 50 partnership despite some good bowling and quite a few lbw shouts. When both openers were out in quick succession the groundwork for the victory had been laid. Fagan departed for a well made 33 and Hayes for 30. Carl Brook then joined the action to bat well to finish on 45 not out. Rama Patel 9, Mark Everest 8 and Chris Brook 11 chipped in around Carl Brook. Vale cruised to their target with a lot of overs to spare winning comfortably by 5 wickets.
