On a good batting track Hurst Green decided to bat. The decision looked unwise early on as they stuttered to 38/3 due to Rob Potter 2/23 and Matt Bowles 1/29. A hundred partnership from Morgan and Baldock looked like taking Hurst Green past 200. Good containing bowling from Chris Brook 3/32 and Carl Brook 3/38 aided by a superb catch from man of the match Darren Stamp helped to skittle the hosts for 166.
In reply Vale lost openers Buss and Kirkham early on to leave the visitors on 13/2 but enter Darren (Razzle) Stamp who blasted a big hitting 88 which included 14 fours and 2 sixes and was abley supported by inform skipper Carl Brook 37 not out. When Razzle departed Steve Brook came in needing 12 which was duly dispatched in 3 balls! Vale reached their target off 24 overs with 17 overs to spare for a very comfortable victory.
